# Answer a question

`POST /runs/{id}/questions/{questionId}/answer`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.italic.com/api/v2`
- URL: `https://app.italic.com/api/v2/runs/{id}/questions/{questionId}/answer`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Required permission: agent:chat. Answers a workflow run's question with one of `choice`, `text` or `dismiss`; the rest of its workflow then runs.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required
- `questionId` string, required

## Request body

- Answer
  - `choice` integer: Index of one of the question's choices.
  - `text` string: A typed answer. A recipient question needs an email address in it.
  - `dismiss` boolean: true skips the question; the workflow ends there.

## Response `200`

Success. Writes without read permission return an ID and revision only.
