# Create a new site

`POST /sites`

Create a new site for the current organization.

Returns the created site and sets the Location header.

Successful Response

- Site: Model representing a site as returned by the API.
  - `name` string, required: Name of the site
  - `location` string, nullable: Physical location of the site (e.g. address or lab name)
  - `notes` string, nullable: Free-text notes about the site
  - `timezone` string: IANA time zone name of the site's local wall clock (e.g. America/New_York)
  - `id` string, required: Unique identifier for the site
  - `organization_id` string, required: Organization this site belongs to.
  - `created_by` string, nullable: User ID of the user who created this site
  - `created_by_email` string, nullable: Email of the user who created this site
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required: Timestamp when the site was created
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, required: Timestamp when the site was last updated
  - `cycler_ids` object[], nullable: List of cycler IDs belonging to this site
