# Create a batch (manufacturing lot) for a cell specification

`POST /cell_specifications/{cell_spec_id}/cell_batches`

Create a batch under a cell specification.

The batch inherits the specification's project. Names are unique per
specification, ignoring case; a duplicate answers 409 with
``detail.existing_id`` set to the batch that holds the name.

Parameters
----------
cell_spec_id : str
    Specification the batch is a production run of.
body : CreateCellBatchBody
    Batch fields.

Returns
-------
CellBatch
    The created batch.

- CreateCellBatchBody: Request body for creating a cell batch under a specification.
  - `name` string, required: Lot name or number, unique (case-insensitively) per spec
  - `notes` string, nullable: Free-text notes about the batch
  - `date_manufactured` string, date, nullable: Manufacture date
  - `properties` object, nullable: Free-form lot metadata

## Response `201`

Successful Response

- CellBatch: A manufacturing lot of one cell specification, as returned by the API.
  - `id` string, required: Unique identifier for the batch
  - `organization_id` string, required: ID of the organization that owns this batch
  - `project_id` string, required: ID of the project that owns this batch
  - `cell_specification_id` string, required: Cell specification this batch is a production run of
  - `name` string, required: Lot name or number, unique (case-insensitively) per specification
  - `notes` string, nullable: Free-text notes about the batch
  - `date_manufactured` string, date, nullable: Manufacture date of the batch
  - `properties` object, nullable: Free-form lot metadata (datasheet lot number, QC results). Numeric values use the Quantity format.
  - `created_by` string, nullable: User ID of the user who created this batch
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required: When the batch was created
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, required: When the batch was last updated
  - `instance_count` integer: Number of cell instances filed under this batch
