# Update a cell batch

`PATCH /cell_batches/{batch_id}`

Update a batch's name, notes, manufacture date or properties.

Parameters
----------
batch_id : str
    Batch to update.
body : UpdateCellBatchBody
    Fields to change. Omitted fields are left alone; an explicit ``null``
    clears ``notes``, ``date_manufactured`` or ``properties``.

Returns
-------
CellBatch
    The updated batch.

## Path parameters

- `batch_id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- UpdateCellBatchBody: Request body for updating a cell batch. All fields are optional (PATCH semantics); an explicit ``null`` clears a nullable field, while omitting it leaves the stored value alone.
  - `name` string, nullable: New lot name
  - `notes` string, nullable: New notes
  - `date_manufactured` string, date, nullable: New manufacture date
  - `properties` object, nullable: New lot metadata

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- CellBatch: A manufacturing lot of one cell specification, as returned by the API.
  - `id` string, required: Unique identifier for the batch
  - `organization_id` string, required: ID of the organization that owns this batch
  - `project_id` string, required: ID of the project that owns this batch
  - `cell_specification_id` string, required: Cell specification this batch is a production run of
  - `name` string, required: Lot name or number, unique (case-insensitively) per specification
  - `notes` string, nullable: Free-text notes about the batch
  - `date_manufactured` string, date, nullable: Manufacture date of the batch
  - `properties` object, nullable: Free-form lot metadata (datasheet lot number, QC results). Numeric values use the Quantity format.
  - `created_by` string, nullable: User ID of the user who created this batch
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required: When the batch was created
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, required: When the batch was last updated
  - `instance_count` integer: Number of cell instances filed under this batch
