# Create a payment

`POST /api/payments`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.invoicevista.com`
- URL: `https://api.invoicevista.com/api/payments`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - API key in header `Authorization`

Records a payment. Requires the `payments:write` scope. Emits a `payment.created` webhook.

- `403`: API key is missing the `payments:write` scope
- `429`: API key rate limit exceeded
