# Read the grounding episodes behind a fact

`GET /v1/facts/{id}/provenance`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://brain.inite.ai`
- URL: `https://brain.inite.ai/v1/facts/{id}/provenance`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

The verbatim source turns (`source.episodeIds`) the fact was derived or ingested from, chronological, text capped server-side. Callers without `brain:read_pii` never receive PII-classed episode text. Same 404 fences as GET /v1/facts/{id}. 404 until FACTS_API_ENABLED=1.

Required scope: `brain:read`.
