# Get a link to upgrade the plan (the person pays on the page)

`POST /v1/billing/checkout`

Returns a link to upgrade the plan. Optional `plan` (default: the cheapest plan lifting current limits) and `billingPeriod` (`monthly` or `annual`). Ask the person which period they want: with it, the link opens a ready-to-pay Paddle checkout; without it, the link opens the plans page with the plan highlighted and they choose there. A workspace that already pays gets its manage-billing page, where plan changes are prorated.
