# The account's monthly overage budget

`GET /v2/billing/budget`

## Request

The most metered overage may cost this account per period, in USD cents. `0` means NO overage: the plan caps refuse exactly as they would without overage billing. Enforcement hard-stops new overage at this number and invoicing never exceeds it, so it is a real spend ceiling, not an alert threshold.

Readable on every plan (free and enterprise simply read 0 and cannot set one — see the PUT).

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid session token
- `403`: Caller lacks a grant on the workspace, or role too low. Or `lane_not_supported` — an `il_live_`/`il_test_`/`il_oauth_` credential, though valid, was presented to a route that accepts the session lane only
- `500`: internal_error — unexpected failure (e.g. billing backend misconfigured or unreachable)
