# Update a RecordSRV object.

`PUT /record:srv/{payload.ref.ref_data}/**`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://csp.infoblox.com/wapi/v3`
- URL: `https://csp.infoblox.com/wapi/v3/record:srv/{payload.ref.ref_data}/**`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`
- TypeScript: <https://skmtc.dev/infoblox/apis/dns-data-web-api/docs/record:srv/:payload.ref.ref_data/**/put.ts> (a function with typed inputs; its response is checked against the schema)

Use this method to update the __RecordSRV__ object.

## Path parameters

- `payload.ref.ref_data` string, required

## Request body

- V3RecordSRV: A __RecordSRV__ object (_dns/record_) represents a DNS resource record in an authoritative zone. For creating a DNS resource record, the following fields are required:<ul><li>_name_: The service name in FQDN format (e.g., _sip._tcp.example.com).</li><li>_target_: The hostname of the server providing the service.</li><li>_port_: The TCP or UDP port on which the service is available.</li><li>_priority_: The priority of the target host.</li></ul> If no value of the _view_ field is provided, the default view is used automatically. The _name_, _target_, _port_, _priority_, and _weight_ fields can be modified while updating a DNS resource record.
  - `comment` string: Comment for the record; maximum 1024 characters.
  - `creator` string: Creator for the RecordSRV. Note that changing creator from or to 'SYSTEM' value is not allowed.
  - `disable` boolean: Determines if the record is disabled or not. False means that the record is enabled.
  - `name` string, required: The name of the RecordSRV in FQDN format. This is typically in the form _service._proto.domain (e.g., _sip._tcp.example.com). This value can be in unicode format.
  - `port` integer, required: The port for the RecordSRV.
  - `priority` integer, required: The priority of the RecordSRV. Lower values indicate higher priority. Clients should attempt to contact the target host with the lowest-numbered priority first.
  - `ref` string: infoblox.ddi.wapi.objectref
  - `tags` object: The tags for the RecordSRV in JSON format.
  - `target` string, required: The target for the RecordSRV. There must be one or more address records for this name. The target must not be an alias (CNAME). A target of "." means the service is decidedly not available at this domain.
  - `ttl` integer: The Time To Live (TTL) value for record. A 32-bit unsigned integer that represents the duration, in seconds, for which the record is valid (cached). Zero indicates that the record should not be cached.
  - `use_ttl` boolean: Use flag for: _ttl_. If set to _true_, the TTL value is used for the record. If set to _false_, the TTL value is inherited from the zone.
  - `view` string: The name of the DNS view in which the record resides. Example: "external".
  - `weight` integer: The weight for the RecordSRV. Higher weights have a proportionately higher probability of being selected.
  - `zone` string: The name of the zone in which the record resides. Example: "zone.com". If a view is not specified when searching by zone, the default view is used.

## Response `200`
