# Remove profiles from a tracking

`DELETE /content-tracking/v1/trackings/{trackingId}/profiles`

## Request

Removes profile ObjectIds from an existing content tracking for the authenticated brand. The operation is idempotent: profiles not linked to the tracking do not fail the request. Duplicate IDs in the request body are collapsed to a unique list. Profile-type trackings are rejected with 400.

## Path parameters

- `trackingId` string, required: Tracking identifier.

## Request body

- ContentTrackingRemoveTrackingProfilesRequest
  - `profileIds` string[], required: Profile identifiers to remove from the tracking. Duplicate IDs are collapsed. IDs not linked to the tracking are accepted (idempotent).
  - `deletePublications` boolean: When true, also unregisters publications of the removed profiles from the tracking. Defaults to false.

## Response `200`

Profiles accepted for removal. `removedProfileIds` is the deduplicated request list, not a confirmation of newly unlinked profiles. Already-unlinked IDs may appear in the array.

  - `trackingId` string, required: Tracking identifier from the path.
  - `removedProfileIds` string[], required: Deduplicated profile identifiers from the request. This is the accepted request list, not a confirmation of newly unlinked profiles. IDs that were not linked to the tracking may appear here.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request payload or validation failed.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API token.
- `403`: The requested capability is not enabled for this brand plan.
- `404`: Tracking or profile was not found, or does not belong to the authenticated brand.
- `429`: Request rate exceeded (short-term throttle) or daily organization quota exhausted. `error.code` is `RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED` for throttling (may include `Retry-After`) or `QUOTA_EXCEEDED` when the daily quota is used up.
- `502`: The API could not complete the request.
- `503`: Service temporarily unavailable.
- `504`: The request timed out.
