# Review point-in-time restore

`POST /platform/deployments/{deployment_id}/prepare-pitr-restore`

Prepare a 15-minute reviewed restore of the database AS IT STOOD at a target instant (UTC, YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SSZ). The instant must lie between the oldest kept base backup and the last shipped WAL. The recovery replays in a scratch cluster and lands in a NEW database (imp_restore_...) on the binding's provider — the live database is never overwritten and nothing is cut over. Requires deploy scope.

## Path parameters

- `deployment_id` string, required: The managed PostgreSQL provider.

## Request body

- object
  - `target_time` string, required: The instant to recover to, UTC.
  - `target_binding_id` string: Optional. Restore through a specific managed connection of the account. Omit to use the connection serving this provider.

## Response `200`

API response envelope with the review and digest.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid input
- `409`: Recovery not active, instant out of the shipped range, or pending credential work
