# Reinstall OS (destructive — wipes all data)

`POST /dedicated/{serviceId}/reinstall`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.imprezahost.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.imprezahost.com/v1/dedicated/{serviceId}/reinstall`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key` and API key in header `X-API-Secret`

Destructive — requires **both** confirmations:
  - body field `"confirm": true`
  - header `X-Impreza-Confirm: WIPE`

On services that support a synchronous reinstall path, the response
returns the generated root password in `data.root_password` (masked
in the audit log). On services where the reinstall must be applied
manually, the response is `{status: "queued", message: "..."}` and
our team executes the reinstall within a few hours.

## Request body

- object
  - `os_id` string, required: OS id from `GET /os-images`
  - `os_label` string: Optional — auto-resolved from os_id if absent
  - `password` string, password, required: New root password (min 8 chars). Masked in audit log.
  - `confirm` true, required: Must be `true` to acknowledge data loss

## Response `200`

Reinstall accepted (sync result on services that support it, queued otherwise)

## Other responses

- `400`: CONFIRMATION_REQUIRED when body confirm or header is missing
