# Delete the data a restore set aside

`POST /backups/{id}/discard-previous`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.imprezahost.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.imprezahost.com/v1/backups/{id}/discard-previous`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key` and API key in header `X-API-Secret`

Permanently removes the `data.replaced-<timestamp>` copy that a
restore left behind, freeing that disk. Pass the RESTORE job's id.

Irreversible, and that copy is the way back from a restore the
customer did not want — so it is a separate, explicit call rather
than part of the restore.

The app is not restarted: only the set-aside copy is deleted, and
the live data is not touched.

Discard job queued

## Other responses

- `401`: Invalid or missing API credentials
- `404`: Resource not found
- `409`: This job set nothing aside, or a job is already in flight
