# Retrieve an Audit event

`GET /v1/audit-events/{auditEventId}`

## Request

Retrieve a single Audit event by its auditEventId. One entry in the tamper-evident audit chain: which principal acted, on which resource, and when. Entries are append-only and hash-chained, so a removed or edited entry is detectable.
