# Create a manual incident

`POST /v2/outages`

Creates a manual incident that can trigger escalation policies.

## Request body

- OutageCreate
  - `description` string, required
  - `escalationPolicyUuid` string — UUID of escalation policy to trigger
  - `severity` 'critical' | 'major' | 'minor' — Severity level of the incident
  - `summary` string — Initial summary for the incident (rich text)
