# Create a company

`POST /crm/objects/2025-09/companies`

Create a single company. Include a `properties` object to define [property values](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/guides/api/crm/properties) for the company, along with an `associations` array to define [associations](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/guides/api/crm/associations/associations-v4) with other CRM records.

## Request body

- SimplePublicObjectInputForCreate: Is the input object used to create a new CRM object, containing the properties to be set and optional associations to link the new record with other CRM objects.
  - `associations` PublicAssociationsForObject[], required: An array that specifies the relationships between the new public object and existing objects. This is required to establish how the new object is connected within the system.
    - `to` PublicObjectId, required: Contains the Id of a Public Object
      - `id` string, required: The ID of the target record to associate.
    - `types` AssociationSpec[], required: The types of associations that exist between the object and other entities, indicating the nature of their relationship.
      - `associationCategory` 'HUBSPOT_DEFINED' | 'INTEGRATOR_DEFINED' | 'USER_DEFINED' | 'WORK', required: For [labeled associations](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/guides/api/crm/associations/associations-v4#associate-records-with-a-label), the category of the association.
      - `associationTypeId` integer, required: The [association type ID](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/guides/api/crm/associations/associations-v4#association-type-id-values) (e.g., `4` for contact-to-company associations).
  - `properties` object, required: The company property values to set.

  - `archived` boolean, required: Whether the object is archived.
  - `archivedAt` string, date-time: The timestamp when the object was archived, in ISO 8601 format.
  - `createdAt` string, date-time, required: The timestamp when the object was created, in ISO 8601 format.
  - `id` string, required: The unique ID of the object.
  - `objectWriteTraceId` string: An identifier used to trace the write request for the object. Set a unique ID for each write operation; it is returned with any errors so you can identify which request encountered which error.
  - `properties` object, required: Key-value pairs representing the properties of the object.
  - `propertiesWithHistory` object: Key-value pairs representing the properties of the object along with their history, each with a timestamp and source information.
  - `updatedAt` string, date-time, required: The timestamp when the object was last updated, in ISO 8601 format.
  - `url` string: The URL associated with the object.
  - `warnings` PublicObjectWarning[]
    - `category` string, required: The classification of the warning, indicating the type or nature of the issue.
    - `context` object, required: Additional information or metadata about the warning, providing context for understanding the issue.
    - `message` string, required: The text of the warning message, providing information about the issue or alert.
