# Start (or resume, same name and size) a chunked upload of a backup file: 16 MiB chunks, at most 25 GB per import by default

`POST /migrations/{migrationId}/artifacts`

  - `size` integer, required: Total size in bytes
  - `sha256` string: SHA-256 of the whole file (verified after the last chunk)
  - `role` 'backup' | 'database' | 'wp-content' | 'files' | 'other': What the file contains; guessed from the name when omitted

Upload started or resumed (missingChunks lists what to send)

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request (code invalid_request)
- `401`: Missing or invalid session/token (code unauthorized)
- `402`: Upload limit reached
- `403`: Authenticated but not permitted (code forbidden)
- `404`: Not found or not visible to the caller (code not_found)
- `409`: Conflicting state (code conflict)
- `429`: Too many requests (code rate_limited); see Retry-After
- `501`: Not available on this server (code not_configured)
- `503`: Hosting engine unavailable (code provider_unavailable)
