# Request a higher daily sending volume

`POST /v1/send-limit/requests`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.honkio.ca`
- URL: `https://api.honkio.ca/v1/send-limit/requests`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

Needs a verified business (BUSINESS_VERIFICATION_REQUIRED until then; see /v1/business-verification), and opens once the account has completed its probation period (counted from its first live send). Omit requested_limit to ask for the standard approved volume, or name a target. One request may be pending at a time; you are emailed when it is decided.

Requires `account:w`.

## Request body

- object
  - `requested_limit` integer: Messages per day you want (not an increment). Omit for the standard approved volume.
  - `reason` string, required: What you send and to whom. Staff decide on this. 10 to 1000 characters.

## Response `201`

The request, pending review.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing, invalid, revoked or expired API key.
- `402`: The account has no balance, or a LIVE key was used before the first top-up.
- `403`: BUSINESS_VERIFICATION_REQUIRED (verify your business first), SEND_LIMIT_REQUEST_TOO_EARLY (probation not over; details.eligible_at) or LIVE_KEY_REQUIRED.
- `404`: NOT_FOUND: no such resource on this account.
- `409`: SEND_LIMIT_REQUEST_PENDING: a request is already pending.
- `422`: VALIDATION_ERROR: the request failed validation; details names the fields.
- `429`: RATE_LIMITED: 3 requests per day per account.
- `500`: Unexpected server error.
