# Fire a trigger your installed app declared

`POST /api/v1/apps/triggers`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Authenticated with the install’s own App Key (hive_app_...), not an API key. Automations whose Inbound webhook trigger uses this app start once per eventId; the same eventId again starts nothing. Only the fields the app declared are read, and a value of the wrong type refuses the call.

## Request body

- object
  - `trigger` string, required: A trigger key from the app definition.
  - `eventId` string, required: Makes the call safe to repeat.
  - `contactId` string, uuid: Optional Hive contact the automation runs for.
  - `data` object: Values for the trigger’s declared fields.

## Response `200`

The eventId was already accepted; nothing new started

## Other responses

- `202`: Accepted; automations were started for a new eventId
- `400`: Invalid input
- `401`: Missing or invalid credential
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
