# Create Patient Medication

`POST /provider/patients/{patient_id}/medications`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.sandbox.hint.com/api`
- URL: `https://api.sandbox.hint.com/api/provider/patients/{patient_id}/medications`
- Auth: API key in header `AUTHORIZATION`

Use this endpoint for historical migrations and reported medications without a new prescribing event.

## Path parameters

- `patient_id` string, required

## Request body

- ProviderPatientsMedicationsControllerCreateBody
  - `product_name` string, required: The name of the medication.
  - `ndc` string: The NDC code of the medication.
  - `rx_norm` string: The RxNorm identifier of the medication.
  - `strength` string: The strength of the medication.
  - `strength_uom` string: The unit of measure for the strength.
  - `dosage_form` string: The dosage form of the medication (e.g. "tablet").
  - `sig_text` string: The dosage and usage directions for the medication (e.g. "Take 1 tablet by mouth daily").
  - `start_date` string: The date the medication starts (YYYY-MM-DD).
  - `end_date` string: The date the medication ends (YYYY-MM-DD).
  - `status` 'Active' | 'Complete': Whether the medication is active or completed. Defaults to Active.
  - `integration_record_id` string
  - `integration_error_message` string
  - `integration_web_link` string
