# Update Patient Medication

`PATCH /provider/patients/{patient_id}/medications/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.sandbox.hint.com/api`
- URL: `https://api.sandbox.hint.com/api/provider/patients/{patient_id}/medications/{id}`
- Auth: API key in header `AUTHORIZATION`

Updates only the stored record addressed by this ID, not other records grouped with it by deduplication.
Prescription snapshots are unchanged. Refresh List Patient Medications to find the current chart entry.
Medications cannot be deleted. To stop a medication, set its `status` to `Complete`.

  - `product_name` string: The name of the medication.
  - `ndc` string: The NDC code of the medication.
  - `rx_norm` string: The RxNorm identifier of the medication.
  - `strength` string: The strength of the medication.
  - `strength_uom` string: The unit of measure for the strength.
  - `dosage_form` string: The dosage form of the medication (e.g. "tablet").
  - `sig_text` string: The dosage and usage directions for the medication (e.g. "Take 1 tablet by mouth daily").
  - `start_date` string: The date the medication starts (YYYY-MM-DD).
  - `end_date` string: The date the medication ends (YYYY-MM-DD).
  - `status` 'Active' | 'Complete': Whether the medication is active or completed.
  - `integration_record_id` string
  - `integration_error_message` string
  - `integration_web_link` string
