# Retrieve box scores for specified match id

`GET /nba/box-score/{matchId}`

Retrieve detailed per-player **NBA/NCAAB box score statistics** by specifying the `matchId` as the path parameter.

The response is an array with two elements:  
`[homeTeam, awayTeam]`

Each team object contains general team information and a list of player box scores.

## Team Structure

Each team (home or away) has the following shape:

| Field      | Description |
|-----------|-------------|
| id        | Unique identifier for the team. |
| name      | Team name. |
| logo      | URL to the team logo, if available. |
| boxScores | List of per-player box score records for the team. |

## Player Box Score

Each item in `boxScores` represents a single player’s performance in the match.

### Player Metadata

| Field | Description |
|------|-------------|
| id   | Unique identifier for the player. |
| name | Player’s display name. |
| jersey | Player’s jersey number, if available. |

## Player Statistics

Player performance data is provided as a list of statistic records.  
Each record contains a **name/value** pair.

| Field | Description |
|------|-------------|
| name  | Name of the statistic (e.g. `Total Points Scored`, `Total Assists`). |
| value | Value of the statistic. Can be a number, string, or null if not applicable. |

## Common Statistics

The following are example statistics you may encounter.  

## NBA Statistics Explained

- **Total Minutes Played**  
  The total amount of time a player has been on the court, measured in minutes.

- **Total Points Scored**  
  The sum of all points a player has scored, including field goals and free throws.

- **Successful Field Goals (FGM)**  
  The number of shots successfully made from the field (2-point and 3-point shots combined).

- **Total Field Goals (FGA)**  
  The total number of shots attempted from the field, whether made or missed.

- **Successful 3PT Field Goals (3PM)**  
  The number of three-point shots successfully made.

- **Total 3PT Field Goals (3PA)**  
  The total number of three-point shots attempted.

- **Successful Free Throws (FTM)**  
  The number of free throws successfully made.

- **Total Free Throws (FTA)**  
  The total number of free throws attempted.

- **Total Rebounds (REB)**  
  The total number of rebounds collected, combining offensive and defensive rebounds.

- **Total Assists (AST)**  
  The number of passes that directly led to a teammate scoring a basket.

- **Total Turnovers (TOV)**  
  The number of times a player lost possession of the ball to the opposing team.

- **Total Steals (STL)**  
  The number of times a player legally took the ball away from an opponent.

- **Total Blocks (BLK)**  
  The number of times a player blocked an opponent’s shot attempt.

- **Total Offensive Rebounds (OREB)**  
  Rebounds collected by a player on their team’s offensive end after a missed shot.

- **Total Defensive Rebounds (DREB)**  
  Rebounds collected by a player on their team’s defensive end after an opponent’s missed shot.

- **Total Fouls (PF)**  
  The number of personal fouls committed by a player.

- **Plus Minus (+/-)**  
  The point differential (team points scored minus points allowed) while the player is on the court.
