# Claim a match for scoring

`POST /v1/matches/{match_id}/claim`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.hify.club`
- URL: `https://api.hify.club/v1/matches/{match_id}/claim`
- Auth: API key in header `X-User-Token`

Creates an active claim for the current user on the match. A referee must claim a match before submitting score entries. The match must not be completed.

## Response `201`

Claim created

- MatchClaim
  - `id` integer
  - `match_id` integer
  - `status` 'active' | 'released'
  - `claimed_at` string, date-time
  - `released_at` string, date-time, nullable
  - `user` object: Serialized user object

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden — only admins and referees may claim a match
- `422`: Unprocessable entity (e.g. match already completed)
