# Record a recorder artifact uploaded to Mender

`POST /v1/edge/mender/software-releases`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.hify.club`
- URL: `https://api.hify.club/v1/edge/mender/software-releases`
- Auth: API key in header `X-Access-Key-Id` and API key in header `X-Signature`

Called by the Mender Deployment workflow after a successful upload. Inserts the artifact with latest false. A retry of the same artifact name returns the existing row and does not change latest. Authenticated as a recorder_release partner integration; no user session.

  - `device_type` string, required

## Response `200`

Release was already recorded

- EdgeSoftwareRelease
  - `id` integer
  - `artifact_name` string
  - `device_type` string
  - `latest` boolean: Rollout pin for automated deploys. Not the newest upload.

## Other responses

- `201`: Release recorded
- `401`: Missing, unknown, inactive or incorrectly signed credential
- `403`: Valid credential, but not a recorder_release integration
- `422`: artifact_name is blank or device_type is not supported
