# Get Next Action

`GET /evaluations/v1/red-team/{workflow_id}/next-action`

Poll for next action - CLIENT'S MAIN POLLING ENDPOINT.

This endpoint is designed to be polled repeatedly by the client.
Returns immediately with current state:
- If attack ready: Returns attack_task with prompt
- If processing: Returns processing=true (client continues polling)
- If complete: Returns action_type=complete

## Path parameters

- `workflow_id` string, required — The workflow identifier

## Response `200`

Next action for client

- NextActionResponse — Response from next-action polling endpoint.
  - `is_ready` boolean, required — Whether an action is ready
  - `is_processing` boolean — Whether processing is in progress
  - `action_type` string — Type of action (e.g., "attack", "complete")
  - `message` string — Status message
  - `session_id` string — Session identifier
  - `turn` integer — Current turn number
  - `attack_prompt` string — Attack prompt to send to target
  - `history` object[] — Conversation history
  - `target_system_prompt` string — Target's system prompt

## Other responses

- `401` — Authentication Error
- `403` — Forbidden Error
- `404` — The specified resource was not found.
- `422` — Validation Error
