# Create a balance adjustment.

`POST /timeoff/employees/{id}/adjustments`

## Request

  - HTTP bearer

Create a balance adjustment for a given employee for a given effective date.<br /> <br /> **Permissions required**: Please refer to the main <a href="https://apidocs.hibob.com/reference/time-off#required-permissions">Time off API Required Permissions</a> page.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Request body

- AdjustmentRequest
  - `adjustmentType` 'balance' | 'daysUsed': Adjustment type - balance or time used.
  - `policyType` string: Policy type name.
  - `effectiveDate` string, date: The date this adjustment becomes effective.
  - `amount` number: The amount of days/hours to add/subtract.
  - `reason` string: A reason for this adjustment.

## Response `200`

Success.
