# List proficiency levels

`GET /skills/proficiency-levels`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.hibob.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.hibob.com/v1/skills/proficiency-levels`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - HTTP bearer

List the proficiency levels configured for the company. Proficiency levels are
read-only in this API and are referenced by numeric ID from
`/skill/proficiencyLevels` on skill create and update.

**Rate limit:** 60 requests/min per tenant.

**OAuth scope (app-user):** `job_catalog.skills:read`.

**IAM permission:** `Job catalog / Skills / View` or `Manage` (company-scoped).

## Response `200`

Success

- ReadProficiencyLevelsOutput
  - `items` ProficiencyLevelItem[], required: Proficiency levels configured for the company, in ascending order.
    - `id` integer, required: Read-only proficiency level ID. Use this value in `/skill/proficiencyLevels` payloads on create and update.
    - `name` string, required: User-facing proficiency level name.
    - `order` integer, required: Ordering of the level as configured in Bob (ascending).

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request — malformed request, unsupported field or filter, or failed validation.
- `401`: Unauthorized — authentication credentials are missing or invalid.
- `403`: Forbidden — the caller lacks the required Skills permission or OAuth scope.
- `429`: Too many requests — per-tenant rate limit exceeded. Retry after the indicated delay.
- `500`: Internal server error — an unexpected error occurred on the server.
