# Send a message

`POST /v1/actions/send_message`

## Request

Send one message to a 1st-degree connection, or into an existing conversation, now.

Pass profileUrl or conversationId, one of them.

LinkedIn delivers an ordinary message only to a 1st-degree connection. For anyone else: send_invitation first, or start_conversation with inmail.

## Request body

- object
  - `text` string, required: The message text.
  - `profileUrl` string: LinkedIn profile URL of the 1st-degree connection to message.
  - `conversationId` string: Id of an existing conversation to send into, instead of a profile URL.
  - `connectionId` string: Which of your LinkedIn accounts to act from (its id from list_linkedin_accounts). Omit to use your first live one.

## Response `200`

It worked. Inside result: sent, conversationId, messageId, text, from, usedToday, dailyLimit.

- `default`: It did not work. The message says why, in plain English.
