# Send an invitation

`POST /v1/actions/send_invitation`

## Request

Send one connection invitation, now.

A link or an id that is not an ordinary member id (ACo…) is first looked up, which LinkedIn counts as a profile view.

A free LinkedIn account can send fewer than a paid one (Premium, Sales Navigator or Recruiter), and only a few with a note: the numbers are under Limits, and get_usage shows what is left.

Past the invitations with a note a free account has, the error is note_limit_reached: send it without a note.

LinkedIn's own invitation limit can refuse it sooner: the error is linkedin_limit_reached.

When the person already has an unanswered invitation from you, LinkedIn answers as if it sent one and hands back that older invitation's id.

## Request body

- object
  - `profileUrl` string, required: The person's LinkedIn profile URL (linkedin.com/in/…).
  - `note` string: Optional note sent with the invitation (max 300 characters; 200 on a free LinkedIn account).
  - `email` string, email: The person's email address — only for someone whose LinkedIn settings ask for it before they can be invited.
  - `connectionId` string: Which of your LinkedIn accounts to act from (its id from list_linkedin_accounts). Omit to use your first live one.

## Response `200`

It worked. Inside result: sent, profileUrl, invitationId, withNote, from, usedToday, dailyLimit, usedLast7Days, weeklyLimit.

## Other responses

- `default`: It did not work. The message says why, in plain English.
