# Delete Template

`DELETE /v3/templates/{template_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.heygen.com`
- URL: `https://api.heygen.com/v3/templates/{template_id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

Soft-deletes a template. It disappears from the list and can no longer be used to generate videos; videos already generated from it are unaffected. Templates managed by another HeyGen product cannot be deleted here.

- `template_id` string, required

## Response `200`

Successful response

- object
  - `data` DeleteTemplateV3Response: Response body for DELETE /v3/templates/{template_id}.
    - `id` string, required: ID of the deleted template
    - `deleted` boolean: Always true on success

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request parameters
- `401`: Authentication failed
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
