# List Look Templates

`GET /v3/avatars/look-templates`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.heygen.com`
- URL: `https://api.heygen.com/v3/avatars/look-templates`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

Lists the look templates and Look Packs your workspace can apply with POST /v3/avatars/looks. Send an item's `id` as `template_id` and its `type` as `type`. Filter by `gender` to match your avatar.

- `gender` 'male' | 'female'

## Response `200`

Successful response

- object
  - `data` LookTemplateItem[]
    - `id` string, required: Template identifier. Pass it as template_id to POST /v3/avatars/looks, with the type this item reports.
    - `type` 'look_pack' | 'template', required: What a template is, named by the ``type`` that applies it on POST /v3/avatars/looks. Deliberately NOT the ``avatar_remix_templates.template_type`` wire values ('pack' / 'single'): the whole point of the listing is that the value you read is the value you send back.
    - `name` string, nullable: Display name of the template.
    - `gender` 'male' | 'female': Gender a template's curated looks are built for.
    - `preview_image_url` string, nullable: Cover image for the template, showing what the generated looks resemble.
    - `looks_count` integer, required: How many looks applying this template generates. A Look Pack's size varies by pack; a single look template generates two.
  - `has_more` boolean: Whether more pages are available
  - `next_token` string, nullable: Opaque cursor for the next page

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request parameters
- `401`: Authentication failed
- `403`: Forbidden — `error.code` is one of: `insufficient_api_key_scope`, `resource_access_denied`, `forbidden`.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
