# Create a named job input

`POST /jobs/{jobId}/inputs/{group}`

## Request

- Base URL: `/` (relative, and the document was published on a file host, not at the API’s origin)
- URL: `/jobs/{jobId}/inputs/{group}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in query parameter `access_token`
  - HTTP bearer

Creates a new input for a job

## Path parameters

- `jobId` string, required
- `group` string, required

## Headers

- `X-Response-Mode` 'regular' | 'paginated'

## Request body

- UploadUrl: Contains the uplaod url for import jobs.
  - `type` 'UploadUrl', required: The type is "UploadUrl"
  - `s3Key` string: The type of the Input
  - `url` string: The presigned url for uploading the data.

## Response `201`

The job inputs

- union
  - UploadUrl: Contains the uplaod url for import jobs.
    - `type` 'UploadUrl', required: The type is "UploadUrl"
    - `s3Key` string: The type of the Input
    - `url` string: The presigned url for uploading the data.
  - JobPayloads: Summary of grouped payloads (inputs/outputs) for a job.
    - `groups` object
    - `itemCount` number: Total items across all groups.
    - `byteSize` number: Total size of items across all groups in bytes.

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed or Bad Request.
- `404`: Not found.
- `412`: An error response which indicates a failed precondition.
