# Add note

`POST /sessions/{session_id}/notes`

## Request

Add a note to a case or variant. Append-only, no edit/delete.

## Path parameters

- `session_id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- CreateNoteRequest: Request to create a case or variant note.
  - `text` string, required: Note content
  - `variant_idx` integer, nullable: Variant index (null = case-level note)

## Response `201`

Successful Response

- NoteResponse: Response for a single note.
  - `id` string, uuid, required
  - `user` NoteAuthor, required: Compact author info for display.
    - `name` string, required
    - `initials` string, required
  - `variant_idx` integer, nullable, required
  - `text` string, required
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required
