# Opt into one add-on (portal session only)

`POST /broker/submissions/{submission_id}/application-workspace/add-ons`

Opts into one add-on listed in the workspace's
`preparation.add_ons` (cover that rides beside the requested lines,
such as a parametric power-outage product). An add-on is never
prepared on its own; choosing it prepares its application. Idempotent.
Portal-session only by design: a connected app or machine token
answers 403.

The add-ons chosen on this submission

## Other responses

- `403`: Requires an unrestricted broker portal session
- `404`: Submission not found (or not your brokerage's)
- `422`: The add-on isn't offered on this submission
