# Answer a carrier session's questions (merge-write)

`POST /broker/submissions/{submission_id}/api-quotes/sessions/{session_id}/answers`

For files created before the instant-quote flow. A file a connected
app or machine credential created returns 409 `use_answers`: answer
it with `PATCH .../answers`.

## Response `200`

Refreshed session with remaining gaps

## Other responses

- `409`: `use_answers`: an instant-flow file is answered with `PATCH .../answers`
