# Create an export

`POST /exports`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.happyscribe.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://www.happyscribe.com/api/v1/exports`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Creates a new export of one or more conversations. Generation is generally fast
(~10s per file). Poll the export until its state is `ready`, then download it
from `download_link`.

For the `mp3` and `mp4` formats no conversion is performed — the response returns
`state: "ready"` and the `download_link` immediately, with exactly one
`conversation_id` per request. The link is a short-lived signed URL.

    - `conversation_ids` string[], required: IDs of the conversations to export.
    - `show_timestamps` boolean: Include timestamps (`txt`, `docx`, `pdf` only).
    - `timestamps_frequency` '5s' | '10s' | '15s' | '20s' | '30s' | '60s': Include inline timecodes at a given frequency.
    - `show_speakers` boolean: Include speaker labels (`txt`, `docx`, `pdf` only).
    - `show_comments` boolean: Include comments (`txt`, `docx`, `pdf` only).
    - `show_highlights` boolean: Include highlights (`docx`, `pdf` only).
    - `show_highlights_only` boolean: Include only highlights (`docx`, `pdf` only).

  - `download_link` string: Present when `state` is `ready`. For `mp3`/`mp4` it is a short-lived signed URL.

## Other responses

- `401`: Your API key is missing (`missing_api_key`) or wrong (`invalid_api_key`), or it may not access this resource (`unauthorized`).
- `422`: The request failed validation. Each error names its `field`.
