# Retrieve an export

`GET /exports/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.happyscribe.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://www.happyscribe.com/api/v1/exports/{id}`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Retrieves an export. When its state is `ready`, download the file from `download_link`.

The export.

  - `state` 'pending' | 'processing' | 'ready' | 'expired' | 'failed': - `pending` — waiting to be processed - `processing` — the export is being generated - `ready` — ready to download - `expired` — no longer available - `failed` — a problem occurred

  - `download_link` string: Present when `state` is `ready`. For `mp3`/`mp4` it is a short-lived signed URL.

## Other responses

- `401`: Your API key is missing (`missing_api_key`) or wrong (`invalid_api_key`), or it may not access this resource (`unauthorized`).
- `404`: The specified resource could not be found, or this key cannot see it (`not_found`).
