# Get Trending

`GET /api/trending`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.halalterminal.com`
- URL: `https://api.halalterminal.com/api/trending`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

List currently trending assets.

Returns an ordered list of assets that are currently trending by
trading activity or price movement.

**curl example**:

curl -X GET "http://localhost:8000/api/trending"
```

**Python requests example**:
```python
import requests
resp = requests.get("http://localhost:8000/api/trending")
trending = resp.json()
```

## Response `200`

List of currently trending assets

- TrendingItemResponse[]
  - `symbol` string, required: Ticker symbol
  - `name` string, required: Company or asset name
  - `change` string, required: Price change as a formatted string
  - `price` number, nullable: Current price in USD
  - `volume` integer, nullable: Trading volume for the current session

## Other responses

- `401`: API key required or invalid
- `429`: Quota exceeded
