# Detect screening staleness from recent SEC filings

`GET /api/insights/{symbol}/staleness`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.halalterminal.com`
- URL: `https://api.halalterminal.com/api/insights/{symbol}/staleness`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Cross-reference the symbol's last screening timestamp with its
SEC filing history. Returns a `screening_stale_reason` when a
material 8-K (debt issuance, M&A, dividend policy change,
business combination) was filed after the last screening — the
very events that move the Shariah verdict.

Empty `screening_stale_reason` means the cached verdict is still
aligned with the latest material disclosures.

## Path parameters

- `symbol` string, required: Ticker symbol, e.g. AAPL.

## Response `200`

Whether material 8-Ks since last screening recommend a re-screen

- `401`: API key required or invalid
- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Quota exceeded
