# Halal alternatives for a non-compliant ticker

`GET /api/insights/{symbol}/alternatives`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.halalterminal.com`
- URL: `https://api.halalterminal.com/api/insights/{symbol}/alternatives`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

For any non-compliant or unscreened ticker, surface up to N
Shariah-compliant alternatives in the same sector ranked by how
close their market cap sits to the source on a log scale.

Returns the source's status and chosen sector so the caller can
explain WHY these alternatives showed up.

**Example:** `GET /api/insights/JPM/alternatives?limit=3` returns
compliant Financial-Services-or-adjacent siblings (typically
insurance, asset managers screened compliant).

## Path parameters

- `symbol` string, required: Ticker symbol, e.g. AAPL.

## Query parameters

- `limit` integer: Max alternatives to return.

## Response `200`

Compliant siblings in the same sector ranked by market-cap proximity

- `401`: API key required or invalid
- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Quota exceeded
