# Get Filings

`GET /api/filings/{symbol}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.halalterminal.com`
- URL: `https://api.halalterminal.com/api/filings/{symbol}`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Retrieve SEC EDGAR filings for a company by ticker symbol.

Returns a list of filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.) sourced from the SEC
EDGAR database. Results can be filtered by filing type and are returned
in reverse chronological order.

## Path parameters

- `symbol` string, required: Ticker symbol, e.g. AAPL.

## Query parameters

- `filing_type` string, nullable: Filter by filing type, e.g. 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K.
- `limit` integer: Max filings to return.

## Response `200`

List of SEC filings for the requested company

- FilingsListResponse: Paginated list of SEC filings for a company.
  - `symbol` string, required: Ticker symbol of the company
  - `cik` string, required: SEC Central Index Key (CIK) number for the company
  - `company_name` string, nullable: Official company name as registered with the SEC
  - `count` integer, required: Number of filings returned
  - `filings` SECFilingResponse[], required: List of SEC filing records
    - `accession_number` string, required: SEC EDGAR accession number uniquely identifying the filing
    - `filing_type` string, required: SEC form type, e.g. '10-K', '10-Q', '8-K', 'DEF 14A'
    - `filing_date` string, required: Date the filing was submitted (YYYY-MM-DD)
    - `primary_document` string, nullable: Filename of the primary document in the filing
    - `primary_doc_description` string, nullable: Human-readable description of the primary document
    - `filing_url` string, nullable: Direct URL to view the filing on SEC EDGAR

## Other responses

- `401`: Authentication required
- `404`: Company or filing not found
- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded — SEC EDGAR enforces strict rate limits
