# Get Events

`GET /api/filings/{symbol}/events`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.halalterminal.com`

- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Retrieve the parsed 8-K event feed for a company by ticker symbol.

Each 8-K (current report) filed by the company is parsed into structured
events: SEC item codes resolved to human-readable labels, each flagged for
whether it can move a Shariah-compliance verdict. Pass
`compliance_relevant=true` for the compliance-watch feed — debt raises,
acquisitions, bankruptcies, restatements and the like.

## Path parameters

- `symbol` string, required: Ticker symbol, e.g. AAPL.

## Query parameters

- `compliance_relevant` boolean: Return only events with at least one item that can move a Shariah-compliance verdict.
- `limit` integer: Max events to return.

## Response `200`

Parsed 8-K event feed for the requested company

- EightKEventsResponse: Parsed 8-K event feed for a company.
  - `symbol` string, required: Ticker symbol of the company
  - `cik` string, required: SEC Central Index Key (CIK) number for the company
  - `company_name` string, nullable: Official company name as registered with the SEC
  - `count` integer, required: Number of 8-K events returned
  - `events` EightKEvent[], required: Parsed 8-K events, most recent first
    - `accession_number` string, required: SEC EDGAR accession number uniquely identifying the filing
    - `filing_date` string, required: Date the 8-K was filed (YYYY-MM-DD)
    - `filing_url` string, nullable: Direct URL to view the filing on SEC EDGAR
    - `compliance_relevant` boolean, required: True when at least one item can move a Shariah-compliance verdict
    - `items` EightKItemModel[], required: The 8-K's reportable items, parsed from its SEC item codes
      - `code` string, required: SEC 8-K item code, e.g. '2.03'
      - `label` string, required: Human-readable event title
      - `compliance_relevant` boolean, required: Whether this item can move a Shariah-compliance verdict

## Other responses

- `401`: Authentication required
- `404`: Company or filing not found
- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded — SEC EDGAR enforces strict rate limits
