# Get Glossary

`GET /api/education/glossary`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.halalterminal.com`
- URL: `https://api.halalterminal.com/api/education/glossary`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Retrieve the Islamic finance glossary, optionally filtered by search query.

Returns a list of key Islamic finance terms (e.g. Riba, Gharar, Murabaha,
Sukuk) with their Arabic script, definitions, categories, and scholarly
references. Use the optional query parameter to search for specific terms.

## Query parameters

- `q` string, nullable: Free-text search term to filter glossary entries.

## Response `200`

List of Islamic finance glossary terms

- GlossaryResponse: Collection of Islamic finance glossary terms, optionally filtered.
  - `count` integer, required: Number of glossary terms returned
  - `query` string, nullable: The search query used to filter terms, if any
  - `terms` GlossaryTermResponse[], required: List of matching glossary terms
    - `term` string, required: English transliteration of the Islamic finance term
    - `arabic` string, nullable: Original Arabic script for the term
    - `category` string, nullable: Topical category, e.g. 'prohibited_elements', 'contracts', 'instruments'
    - `definition` string, required: Detailed explanation of the term in the context of Islamic finance
    - `references` string[]: Scholarly or scriptural references supporting the definition

## Other responses

- `401`: Authentication required
- `404`: Resource not found
- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
