# Update a shared chat

`PATCH /shared_chats/{shared_chat_id}`

Update a shared chat's settings. Only the owner can update a shared chat.

## Path parameters

- `shared_chat_id` string, required

## Request body

- UpdateSharedChatRequest
  - `is_private` boolean: Whether the shared chat requires authentication.
  - `includes_artifacts` boolean: Whether to include file artifacts.

## Response `204`

Successful operation

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Unauthorized - Invalid or missing API key
- `403`: Forbidden
- `409`: Conflict
- `default`: Unexpected error
