# Star a library item (skill or mcp)

`POST /agents/library/{item_kind}/{item_id}/star`

Marks the calling user as having starred this library item. Only users who have already installed the item are eligible — calls from non-installed users return 403. Idempotent: re-starring is a no-op. Returns the new aggregate star_count.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Unauthorized - Invalid or missing API key
- `403`: Caller has not installed this item; not eligible to star.
