# Post agent event

`POST /partner/app/{appId}/bizai/agent_event`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://partner.gupshup.io`
- URL: `https://partner.gupshup.io/partner/app/{appId}/bizai/agent_event`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Tells the agent something happened for a consumer, such as a payment. **This can send a real
WhatsApp message to the number in `to`.** `event.payload` is a JSON string, not an object.

## Request body

- AgentEventRequest
  - `to` string, required: Consumer phone number, E.164. The consumer must already have a conversation with the business.
  - `event` object, required
    - `type` string, required
    - `description` string, required
    - `payload` string, required: JSON-encoded event data.

## Response `200`

Event accepted for processing.

- AgentEventAccepted: **Per Meta reference**.
  - `status` 'accepted', required
  - `agent_event_id` string

## Other responses

- `400`: Missing `to` or `event`.
- `401`: Missing, invalid, or foreign-app token. Raised by Partner Portal before any forwarding.
- `429`: Per-app rate limit exceeded. Retry after the 60-second window.
