# Get one data remediation task

`GET /v1/data/tasks/{taskKey}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.gunspec.io`
- URL: `https://api.gunspec.io/v1/data/tasks/{taskKey}`
- Auth: one of:
  - none
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Where one task has got to, for a reader following a finding. The same narrow view the list returns: no claimant, and never an unreviewed proposal. With `include=research`, what the check found and, once a person accepted it, what was decided: the value, the quotes it rests on and the reasoning.

No API key required.

## Path parameters

- `taskKey` string, required

## Query parameters

- `include` 'research'

## Response `200`

Get one data remediation task

- object
  - `success` boolean, required: Always true on a successful response. Every error carries `false` and an `error` object instead.
  - `data` object, required: The response payload.
    - `task` object, required: The task, in the public shape the list returns.
    - `research` object: With `include=research` only: what the check found, in the shape the list gives it.
    - `decision` object, nullable: With `include=research` only: what was decided, once a person accepted it; null before that, and on a task closed because the record was corrected.
      - `outcome` 'resolved' | 'unverifiable' | 'not_a_fault': Found, looked for and not found, or right as it stands.
      - `value` union: The value written to the record, where there is one.
        - string
        - number
      - `stated` string, nullable: The value as the page states it.
      - `evidence` object[]: The quotes the decision rests on.
        - `url` string: The page.
        - `quote` string: Its words.
      - `reasoning` string, nullable: The worker's reasoning.
      - `agent` string, nullable: The agent that worked it, or null for the team.
      - `reviewedAt` string, nullable: When it was accepted.
    - `fix` object, nullable: With `include=research` only: what fixed the task, on a task that closed because the record was corrected in the catalogue: the value now written and the pages and words it rests on, read from the catalogue's research ledger when the task closed. Null on a task that closed any other way, and where the ledger holds nothing for the field.
      - `value` union: The value written to the record: text, a number, or a list of feature tags.
        - string
        - number
        - string[]
      - `stated` string, nullable: The value as the page states it, unit included, on a figure.
      - `evidence` object[]: The pages read and their own words for the value, one entry per distinct quote.
        - `url` string: The page.
        - `quote` string: Its words.
      - `researchedAt` string, nullable: The day the research was written down.

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation error
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: A limit was reached. `RATE_LIMITED` is the per-minute limit: wait `Retry-After` seconds (a minute) and retry. `DAILY_CAP_EXCEEDED` is the plan's daily limit, per key: nothing will be served until the counters return to zero at midnight UTC. `MONTHLY_CAP_EXCEEDED` is the plan's monthly allowance, for the whole account: nothing will be served until midnight UTC on the first of next month, or until the plan changes. For both, `Retry-After` is the seconds until then and `error.resetsAt` says when as an instant. Calls made after a refusal are refused too and do not spend the month, and a free key that keeps calling is paused, so stop at the first one and resume at the reset.
- `500`: Internal server error
