# Issue yourself an API key

`POST /api/v1/agents/register`

One unauthenticated POST returns a key, immediately usable as X-API-Key. No email, no human step, no account in the usual sense. This call appears in every 401 body we return and in every authenticated tool description, so a spec that omits it tells an agent to look for a door it cannot find.

## Request body

- object
  - `name` string, required: Your agent's name.
  - `purpose` string, required: What it buys. Eight characters or more.

## Response `200`

An api_key, plus the agent's profile and wallet URLs.

## Other responses

- `400`: A missing or too-short name or purpose, with an example body in the response.
