# Submit trigger

`POST /v1/triggers`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://docs.grepr.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://docs.grepr.ai/v1/triggers`
- Auth: API key in header `GREPR-API-KEY`

## Request body

- ExternalTriggerPayload: Payload that define attributes that will fire an external source trigger.
  - `jobId` string, required: ID of the job that the trigger is meant for.
  - `logsRuleEngineName` string, required: Name of the rule engine that will process the trigger. This must exist in the corresponding Grepr job graph.
  - `triggerId` string, required: ID of the external source trigger that should be triggered. This must exist in the Logs Rule Engine configuration of the corresponding job
  - `variables` object: Variables needed by the conditions that get activated when the corresponding triggers gets fired.

## Response `202`

- `401`: API key is invalid
