# Delete a comment

`DELETE /v1/issues/{idOrNumber}/comments/{commentId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://docs.grepr.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://docs.grepr.ai/v1/issues/{idOrNumber}/comments/{commentId}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `GREPR-API-KEY`
  - OpenID Connect (`https://grepr-prod.us.auth0.com/.well-known/openid-configuration`)

Deletes a comment the caller wrote: it leaves the issue's comments, guidance and search. People only. The history keeps its text; deleting a guidance comment changes the issue's version.

## Path parameters

- `idOrNumber` string, required
- `commentId` string, required

## Response `204`

Comment deleted

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Not a person, not the comment's author, or no permission to edit
- `404`: Issue or comment not found
